Real-time on air production that was held to the highest standards proved to be the finest schooling. I was part of the production team of “Cheque en Blanco” at Rock & Pop FM from its early stages, and participated in this influential Saturday show for 7 years.
Receiving training from award-winning journalists such as Ernesto Tenembaum was a great privilege.
After getting my start in news departments and on breaking news teams for a few years, I witnessed a boom in Argentina’s electronic music scene in the shape of international music festivals such as Creamfields and a new radio segment called Metrodance. As General Artistic Coordinator of this section I took care of overseeing everything in terms of content, programming , events, DJing and hosting.
I got the chance to collaborate with some of the scene’s biggest names, such as Hernán Cattaneo. I coordinated the transmission of the international music festival Creamfields and for, many summers, I was based in Mar del Plata (Argentina’s biggest seaside city, and a cultural landmark in its own right) for the artistic production of Arena Beach.
Brunch (Radio Metro 95.1 FM) transcended the airtime to materialize in the form of a menu and conversation topics. Our team, which consisted of a group of renowned professionals of different disciplines, became known as “brunch family”, and it was the mastermind and guardian of the unalterable essence of a radio show that earned a faithful community of listeners for over 12 years. I can say with both pride and joy that, by being in charge of content production, artistic writing and on-air coordination of such an emblematic content, I feel like part of a chapter in the history of Argentine radio.
